The reason for this might be separating personal account with business contact account to many other reasons. Whatever reason or situation you have , this guideline is for you.
So How to open 2 skype instances( Windows) in 1 computer?
Lets do it đ
If you are in Windows XP or earlier , Follow these steps:
- From the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run (or press the Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time)
- In the Run window, enter the following command (include the quotes) and press OK:“C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary
If you are in Vista or Windows 7 then follow these steps:
- From the Windows taskbar, click Start and then type run on the search program and files box and hit Enter from the Keyboard/ press Windows Key and R keys on your keyboard at the same time)
- In the Run window, enter the following command (include the quotes) and press OK:“C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary
If your OS (Operating System) is 64 bit then: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary
if you get an error message, copy and paste the exact command from this page and try again.
Please note that if you have changed the installation path for Skype then you will need to enter the correct path for the Skype.exe file.
If that solution fails :
- Find the Skype executable file (Skype.exe)Â in: C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Â
- Right click on it and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)
- Locate the shortcut on the desktop, then right-click on it and select Properties
- In the Target field, add: /secondary. The Target field should now be “C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary
- Click OK. You can now start a new instance of Skype every time you double-click the new shortcut.
That’s it! Pretty cool huh! Now you can run 2 Skype or more in your computer. Please let us know your thoughts about this articles or if you have any questions.
